Volunteering Sunshine Coast

VSC a force behind Flood Recovery 2022

A fabulous band of volunteers rallied together to support flood recovery efforts following the February ‘deluge’ in 2022.  In collaboration with the Sunshine Coast Council Volunteering Sunshine Coast harnesses the efforts and manages the distribution of spontaneous volunteers to support community recovery efforts following natural disasters.

The training and skills of the VSC disaster management co-ordinators and team leaders were instrumental in guiding volunteers in clearing garden waste, mud, and debris from a number of properties. In partnership with Sunshine Coast Council significant waste was remove from roadside pick-ups and dumped – relieving pressure on those most vulnerable and unable to do so.

Volunteer wishing to register for recovery efforts following a natural disaster can do so on at www.volunteeringsc.org.au or contacting VSC direct on 07 5443-8256 or emailing admin@volunteeringsc.org.au
