Activities Assistant

The Activities Assistant enhances the quality of service provision to clients through supporting staff to deliver and engage clients in recreational activities.

The following mandatory credentials will be arranged for volunteers to obtain prior to commencement in this role:

  • National Police Certificate

Skills and Qualities Required:

  • Willing to “Make a Difference” within their local community
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of people with varying needs
  • Ability to use initiative, take direction and contribute to the team
  • Reliable, flexible and motivated

Responsibilities:

  • Assist staff with the delivery of recreational activities both in-house and externally
  • Assist staff with the preparation, set up and clean-up of activities as required
  • Assist mobile clients (as directed by staff) to and from the activity area/transport
  • Assist clients to engage in the activity through providing gentle encouragement practical assistance and guidance
  • Record keeping and reporting requirements

Expectations of the Position:

  • Maximum of 16 hours per week

Fundraising supporter

Location: Sunshine Coast Region (Caboolture to Gympie)
Reporting to: Esther Attewell
Permanent Part time: (a minimum of a 3 month commitment)
Hours: 10-15+ hours a week

Position Description: Distributing 200 donation boxes to cafés and businesses across the Sunshine Coast and rolling out a fundraising campaign that will launch in August. You will be required to engage potential contributors/donors/sponsors/collaborators face to face, over the phone, via social media and email. You will also spend time in the Belli Park office to attend training, working on lead generation and meetings, but the nature of the work will mean you are also out and about in your car delivering goods on a regular basis.

Experience and skills

  • Fundraising or marketing experience is essential
  • A self-confident communicator, face to face and over the phone
  • Local business knowledge is preferable but not essential, especially if
    your background is in the equine or hospitality industries
  • Physically fit enough to walk for long periods of time, flexible and strong
    enough move and lift boxes, merchandise etc. (less than 10kg) from and
    to storage, customers and your car.
  • Current driver’s license and use of your own car
  • Self-motivated, timely and totally reliable
Laser Cutter Team Leader

Location: Belli Park and Cooroy
Reporting to: Esther Attewell
Permanent Part time: (a minimum of a 3 month commitment)
Hours: 10- 25 week

Position Description: Providing fundraising support to deliver services on the Sunshine Coast and SEQ region. An experienced leader is required to assist in getting a small social enterprise business set up around a Trotec laser marking, cutting and engraving machine, with the purpose of creating items to sell as fundraising profit to benefit the charity. The position is voluntary for the first six months, then everything will be reviewed; but the long term goal is to produce enough excess income to support a small salary. You will work from the office in Belli Park.

Experience and skills

  • Proficient in corel draw or adobe illustrator is essential
  • Previous laser printer, engraving or cutting experience is essential
  • Ability to plan, be flexible, brainstorm and think outside the box
  • Self-starting, motivated and totally reliable are essential
  • Previous experience in training or team leadership or the ability and
    willingness to learn
  • Social enterprise and/or not for profit knowledge or experience would be
    advantageous
