Arts Space Assistant Curator and General Administration

Position Description: Assist in the curation of exhibitions in Wan’din’in arts space and undertake general office work. As arts space assistant curator you will help assist artists who are holding exhibitions in the planning of their exhibitions, promotion, setup and take down of their work, working with the manager and other volunteers.

Requirements:

  • Good computer and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Spreadsheets
  • An arts background or interest in art and cultural heritage would be an advantage
  • Experience with photography, Adobe Illustrator, Creative Suite and Photoshop or similar software is beneficial but not essential

Duration: Less than 6 months

Training: Some training will be available

Availability: Fridays 10 am to 3 pm with the possibility of more hours

Technology Help Volunteer

Position Description:

  • Provide one-on-one technology instruction and assistance
  • Support hands on learning by the student on personal and library devices
  • Liaise with library employees regarding the sessions
  • Promote this service to the community
  • Refer students to relevant library resources and training to support practice in between training sessions

Requirements:

  • High level of technology knowledge
  • Patience and understanding of different skill levels of students
  • Good communication skills
  • Enjoy social interaction
  • Reliability
  • Ability to maintain student confidentiality

Duration: Long Term

Availability: 3-6 hours one day per week. Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday (Monday is preferable). Start time in the morning is not earlier than 9 am

Volunteer Drivers – Beerwah

Position Description:

  • Drive service users to medical appointments, shopping, Day Centre activities, etc.
  • Be responsible for the welfare, comfort and safety of service users from their homes to their destination and return
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by involvement in staff meetings, and feedback mechanisms
  • Communicate respectfully with all individuals including service users, representatives, staff and the community
  • Promote safety by following organisational Workplace Health and Safety requirements and guidelines
  • Other duties as requested by the Transport Team Leader

Requirements:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Proof of Comprehensive Insurance and Roadworthy Status of vehicle is required
  • It would be desirable for you to have experience in this field of work but not necessary
  • Police Check (less than 3 years old) -Organisation will apply and pay costs
  • Open Drivers Licence and use of own vehicle
  • Yellow Card required – Organisation will apply and pay costs

Duration: Long Term

Training: Manual handling

Availability: Flexible hours and days

Volunteer Secretary

Position Description: Secretarial duties such as securing committee documents, writing documents, dispatching minutes and agendas.

Requirements:

  • Experience with computer skills and the ability to listen and learn form people is a must. A commitment to our aims and objectives will be an advantage
  • Tolerance and understanding
  • Yellow Card and other documents required will be organised by the organisation

Duration: Long Term

Training: On the job training will be provided. Extra training available on request.

Availability: 4 hours every third Friday of the month from 9 am to 12:30 pm (for Secretary) and occasional Management Committee Meetings. Meetings are held at the Mooloolaba TAFE, 34 Lady Musgrave Drive, Mountain Creek.

Volunteer Secretary

The position of secretary will be fully supported by the management committee in a group of people with varying disabilities. The clientele, who share their experiences through lived experience endeavour to assist the community with access issues. The position entails the usual secretarial duties such as securing committee documents, writing documents, dispatching minutes and agendas. This is a committed position and personal satisfaction from assisting the community is the reward.

An experienced secretary with computer skills is needed. They will have the ability to listen and learn form people. A commitment to the aims and objectives will be an advantage. The person in this position will have a tolerance and understanding and this is the quality the organisation would be looking for.

This organisation meets every third Friday of the month in Mountain Creek and Caloundra. The meeting times for the Secretary are 9 am to 12;30 pm. Occasionally Management committee meetings will occur. The position entails the usual Secretarial duties such as securing committee documents, writing documents, dispatching minutes and agendas.

Requirements:

  • Yellow Card and other documents will be required. These will be organised if you do not have them.

Volunteer drivers are required in or near Beerwah and surrounds to assist customers of a country community care organisation. The role includes getting customers to and from their appointments. You will need to have a strong commitment to working with older people and young people with disabilities. The country care provider provides a petrol allowance for mileage. The Drivers will ensure the safe and comfortable transport of service users between their homes and their destinations. This position will report to the transport team leader. You will also Drive service users to medical appointments, shopping, day centre activities, etc in duties that are rostered underneath the transport portfolio for this organisation.

In this role you will be:
